El Dorado Transit will operate the free Apple Hill Shuttle every Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Oct. 5-27. Parking for the shuttle services will be available at two locations; Schnell School in Placerville and the U.S. Forest Service Ranger Station, just off Highway 50, on Eight Mile Road in Camino.
The Apple Hill Shuttle is an ideal way to visit some of El Dorado County’s most popular orchards, ranches, wineries and family attractions, during the peak of the harvest season, without the headaches of traffic and parking. Shuttle buses will depart every 15-20 minutes from both satellite parking lots and visitors can get on and off as many times as they like at any designated shuttle stops throughout Apple Hill. Coordinators will be available at the parking lots to supply visitors with maps and all the information needed to make the most of an Apple Hill visit.
